Group Insurance Claims Adviser

What will be your key responsibilities:

We are a small team of 2 people. Thanks to a friendly atmosphere and fresh team spirit, it is really easy to fit in. Our working hours are pretty flexible, therefore you can easily organize your day and combine work with your personal life. Our daily job includes various tasks and every day offers many challenges. Our team’s role is somewhere between customer service and investigation so there is always something new to learn. The communication in English is our daily bread as we are in touch with our customers, external claim handlers, loss adjusters, solicitors, insurers and colleagues across the UK.

What will you do?
  • Handling property damage and injury claims in a timely and professional manner, negotiating effectively to reduce costs. Daily communication with customers, internal colleagues, and other relevant contacts.
  • Responsible for the day to day handling of claims (over £1k)
  • Maintenance of productive relationships with Customer contact centre complaint handlers
  • Accurately maintaining in house spreadsheets and managing various reports
  • Arranging payment of agreed settlements to resolve customer claims
  • Providing guidance to stores and delivery depots on property, injury and PDBI (Property damage business interruption) claims
  • Investigation of personal injury and product claims
  • Mediating travel and motor claims
  • Daily correspondence with insurers and solicitors

What experience should you have:

  • You are an advanced English speaker – both written and spoken
  • You are not afraid to communicate and speak out when needed
  • You are a self starter capable of working unsupervised
  • You are an assertive person with knowledge of UK culture
  • Your experience within customer support is an advantage
  • You don’t have to be an expert in the financial field, however, you should have an eye for detail and good analytical skills
  • As you will use Excel on daily basis, we need you to have at least basic knowledge of its functionalities
  • You need to be able to organize your daily work and meet deadlines
  • You are a team player so other colleagues can rely on you when necessary
