Atlassian / JIRA Architect

Responsibilities:

• Design, architect, and implement enterprise-scale Atlassian solutions, including Jira, Jira Service Management, and related Atlassian products.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand functional and technical requirements and translate them into effective platform solutions.
• Lead the end-to-end solution architecture, from discovery and design through implementation and continuous improvement.
• Perform hands-on configuration and administration of Jira and Jira Service Management in alignment with Atlassian best practices.
• Establish and maintain governance, standards, and best practices for Jira configuration, workflows, permissions, schemes, and project structures.
• Ensure platform security, compliance, and access controls are implemented according to organisational security standards.
• Design scalable, maintainable, and high-performing solutions that support evolving business needs.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to administrators, developers, and project teams.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to integrate Atlassian products with enterprise systems.
• Drive platform optimisation, automation, and service management improvements.
• Support incident resolution, platform upgrades, and strategic roadmap initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience working with Atlassian products, including enterprise-level Jira implementations.
• Proven experience as an Atlassian Architect, Solution Architect, or Senior Atlassian Consultant.
• Strong hands-on experience configuring and administering Jira and Jira Service Management.
• Solid understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) principles and best practices.
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent ITIL knowledge.
• Demonstrated ability to gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of Jira configuration best practices, including workflows, screens, fields, permission schemes, notification schemes, issue security, and automation.
• Experience designing secure Atlassian environments with a strong understanding of security, authentication, authorization, and governance.
• Ability to balance strategic architecture with hands-on technical delivery.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Atlassian certifications (ACP) are highly desirable.
• Experience with Atlassian Cloud and/or Data Center environments.
• Experience integrating Atlassian products with enterprise applications and identity management solutions.
• Experience with scripting, automation, and marketplace applications such as ScriptRunner or Automation for Jira.
• Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
