Audit Readiness Manager

We’re looking for an Audit Readiness Manager to design the framework, set the standard, and build a team that keeps compliance watertight.

What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Lead, design, and develop a critical business function focused on audit readiness.
  • Prepare organizations and their clients for financial and compliance audits by combining technical audit knowledge, strong communication skills, and a client-centric focus.
  • Streamline audit processes and identify or remediate gaps in controls or documentation.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Develop and maintain audit readiness frameworks and supporting documentation such as policies, procedures, and control metrics.
  • Assess internal controls and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken ahead of formal audits.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients by guiding them through pre-audit assessments and regulatory preparations.
  • Lead the end-to-end assessment lifecycle, from scoping and planning through to fieldwork, reporting, and follow up.
  • Create clear, concise, and insightful assessment reports summarizing key findings and recommendations.
  • Maintain open dialogue with stakeholders to ensure transparency and buy-in during the assessment process.

What experience should you have:

Must have skills:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
  • CA, CPA, CIA or equivalent professional certification.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in internal audit

Preferred skills:

  • Proven experience in managing remote team members
  • Strong understanding of risk management, controls & audit principles
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for building and maintaining relationships
  • Outstanding organisational & time management skills
  • Knowledge of data analytics or audit automation tools
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage up effectively
