Back-End Developer for the Avocado team

What will be your key responsibilities:

Someone to join our Avocado team and contribute to the development of our data-driven logistics platform GAIA. GAIA is an API-based web and mobile application that is used by over a two thousands of our couriers daily. We are building it primarily for DODO, but also so that anyone who needs delivery can use it. The back-end is in .NET 8.0, the front-end is in Angular 18 and we run it all in Azure. We take quality seriously, code review is common in our company, we write various types of automated tests, such as unit or integration tests. But at the same time, we test our applications manually.

You will become part of the Avocado team, responsible for critical back-office functions, primarily focusing on Fleet and Shift management. Our team also oversees the Order Tracking web application, which provides real-time delivery tracking for our customers. When you join, you will be paired with an experienced developer who will help you get started, guiding you through the codebase, processes, and answering your questions.

Tech Stack:

  • .NET 8, Entity Framework Core, Swagger, SignalR, …
  • Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Storage Accounts, Web Apps, Queues & Functions, Application Insights, LogicApps, ...
  • Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines

What experience should you have:

  • You have at least two years of experience in commercial web application development in .NET (Core, 5.0, 6.0, 7.0, 8.0).
  • You are proficient in SQL, working with relational databases and know some ORM framework (preferably EF Core).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms administration is an advantage.
  • English ideally both written and spoken. (Our documentation is in English, however our team is primarily CZ & SVK at the moment.)

What do you get in return:

  • Interesting work in one of the TOP3 European last-mile company and the opportunity to grow with the DODO.
  • Annual bonus scheme and meal allowance
  • Work from new dog friendly office in Prague – Karlín (near metro station Křižíkova).
  • Flexible working hours and the possibility of home-office.
  • An informal working environment where we feel comfortable, motivated, and supported to be creative and to do our best.
  • To be part of the "trendsetter" culture and participate in introducing new, unique processes and participate in international projects at Group level.
  • Various company events such as All Hands meetings, inspirational breakfasts, or company-wide teambuilding.
  • Opportunities for continuous development - through our internal DODO Academy or various external trainings, conferences, and workshops, ...
  • Multisport card at a discounted price.
  • 5 weeks of vacation.
