Chief Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant with focus on compliance. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in accounting for German companies and multinational groups, as well as extensive experience with SAP. Knowledge of the German language is a very big advantage.

What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Oversee as well as perform daily accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with applicable regulations and IFRS accounting standards
  • Prepare monthly and annual financial reports according to IFRS accounting standards
  • Coordinate external audits, ensuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards as well as tax regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting operations and lead initiatives to streamline workflows.
  • Manage the statutory financial statements
  • Work in close alignment with both internal and external tax advisors


What experience should you have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting. CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in a comparable role
  • Proficiency with SAP
  • Fluency in English
  • German language proficiency is a big plus
  • Strong knowledge IFRS standards.
  • Ability to adapt to changes, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and stakeholder interaction.
