Chief Accountant

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accuracy of all accounting processes, managing a small team, and ensuring compliance with Czech accounting standards and company policies.

What will be your key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Full responsibility for statutory accounting under Czech accounting standards (ČÚS); IFRS knowledge is a plus

• Lead and manage a team of 3 accountants, including task allocation, performance monitoring, and professional development

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities and financial reporting

• Communicate with external auditors, tax advisors, and relevant authorities (e.g., tax office)

• Ensure compliance with all legal and internal financial regulations

• Collaborate with the finance and controlling teams on financial planning and analysis

• Work daily in SAP S/4HANA and perform advanced tasks in MS Excel


What experience should you have:

Requirements:

• University degree in Economics, Finance, or Accounting, with a focus on accounting and business management

• Extensive experience in the field of accounting, including a solid background in independently managing accounting operations and managing a team in a senior accounting or Chief Accountant role.

• Strong knowledge of Czech accounting standards; IFRS familiarity is an advantage

• Previous experience with people management

• Proficient in SAP (ideally SAP S/4HANA) and advanced MS Excel skills

• High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and ability to make independent decisions

• Strong organizational and communication skills

• Fluency in English (minimum B2 level, ideally C1)

• German language skills are an advantage
