IT Category Specialist

What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Use of technical knowledge in sourcing and purchasing the right products for clients. 
  • Implement IT procurement processes established by the IT Category Manager to consistently achieve service level agreements. 
  • Provide operational procurement services that align with business goals, ensuring timely and efficient delivery. 
  • Manage projects and purchases in a compliant manner, maximizing value while mitigating risks within the client’s risk appetite. 
  • Maintain accurate client asset lists to support effective procurement and management. 
  • Advocate for procurement, supplier, and contract management best practices among stakeholders, including training on ticketing tools. 
  • Offer feedback and identify risks to the IT Category Manager to enhance vendor and stakeholder management.
  • Developing key stakeholder relationships, focused on the continued development of procurement as a trusted business partner. 
  • Source suppliers using best practices, prioritizing stakeholder needs and satisfaction. 
  • Ensure that client interests and assets are safeguarded and provide comprehensive end-to-end supplier engagement services. 
  • Assist the IT category team in achieving client-driven initiatives and objectives. 
  • Oversee the end to end sourcing lifecycle, leading cross-functional stakeholders throughout the procurement process. 
  • Support Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) by classifying new suppliers and determining appropriate due diligence frequency.

What experience should you have:

  • Related degree or equivalent experience
  • CIPS (Desirable)  
  • Strong negotiations skills  
  • Stakeholder management  
  • Attention to detail  
  • Contract management  
  • Strategic thinking 
  • Ability to adapt to change  
  • Understanding of risk management 
  • Good financial understanding  
  • Ability to collaborate effectively
