Java Developer

Our partner is a subsidiary of a major Austrian insurance company, which provides its services to more than 3 million clients in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. With over 200 years of tradition, our partner offers a wide range of financial products from personal and business insurance, savings, investments to loans and much more.

Currently they are looking for an expert in Java programming, particularly in the field of life insurance, with a focus on both backend and frontend development, support, and automation of processes within the company’s POS systems.

What will be your key responsibilities:

The Actuarial Customer Life Insurance Team offers a diverse mix of operational and technical topics. Their core tasks include the preparation of special offers, contract mathematics, evaluations, and escalated complaints.

  • Java programming (frontend and backend) of the POS for business in new contracts
  • Ongoing support and further development of the POS
  • Automation of work processes, e.g., mass processing of contract changes
  • Support for sales
  • Assistance with questions regarding the use of the POS
  • Close cross-team collaboration in life insurance

What experience should you have:

  • Solid knowledge in Java programming
  • Experience with other object-oriented programming languages (e.g., C++, VBA)
  • Knowledge of corporate life insurance is an advantage
  • Relevant education/studies (e.g., computer science, actuarial mathematics) are an advantage
  • IT affinity (Excel, SQL, Confluence, Jira)
  • You are highly independent, responsible, and results-oriented
  • You work proactively and constructively with your colleagues
  • You are a strong team player and work together responsibly and sustainably with a high level of quality awareness
