R&D - Electrical Engineer - English

Our client is a start-up company in the field of quantum technology based in Ulm. The company uses the latest developments in quantum physics to apply conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to study human metabolism better. The most critical applications for hyperpolarised MRI are advanced cancer diagnostics and investigating the effectiveness of therapies shortly after they have begun. Our client's ultimate objective is to leverage quantum technologies to achieve the "holy grail" of medical imaging - imaging of the metabolism in real-time, enabling early diagnosis and personalized treatment of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and neurological disorders. The international team includes 50 specialists, product developers and world-leading scientists from ten countries. Due to strong growth, the company is looking for support in the R&D department and is looking for an Electrical Engineer (m/f/d).

What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Working independently within an interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers.
  • Planning and managing small projects. 
  • Working proactively to understand the entire system and operating at the system level.
  • Defining specifications and identifying needs in coordination with scientists. 
  • Designing electrical systems and selecting components (for e.g. sensor & actuator components, as well as, interface, amplifiers, power supplies, etc.)
  • Design electrical wiring and power supply concepts for devices.
  • PCB design for eg. interface boards and analog circuits.

What experience should you have:

  • Several years of experience in Electrical Engineering.
  • Educational background in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in product development.
  • Experience with PLC industrial controllers is considered an advantage. (e.g. Beckhoff system)
  • Experience with measurement automation and programming is considered an advantage. 
  • Mechatronic experience for e.g. linear stages is considered an advantage.
  • You demonstrate the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively, managing projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
  • You possess a strong sense of motivation, organization, and a passion for delivering results.
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • You bring industry experience from the following areas: Medical (-device), Pharma, Biotech, Chemicals
