Technical Illustrator

This position emphasizes technical Illustrations with supporting technical authoring tasks

What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Creating, planning, structuring, and maintaining technical documentation in an XML-based content management system iPS.Suite™
  •  Creation, management, and modification of Illustrated parts data modules and maintenance illustrations 3D/2D.
  • Management over reusability and applicability
  • Usage of Work Packages, Work Orders, and State Transition Models,
  • Planning and carrying out publications/releases.
  • Analyze technical documents for conversion to technical illustrations, regarding re-use and single-sourcing of data. (Usage of 3D data, 2D engineering drawings, Bills of Materials)
  • Creation and management of spare parts catalogues, material data, and articles database.
  • Support of customers with the development of innovative approaches for improvement of technical publications-

What experience should you have:

  • College diploma (DEC or equivalent Bachelor’s degree) in technical field of study (preferred) or any other education in a technical field of study (mechanical or electrical).
  • Experience as a technical Illustrator on hardware products (required) with technical training, preferably in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or aeronautical engineering.
  • Knowledge of (component) content management systems and CSDB (like HICO TechDoc-Suite™).
  • Knowledge of an 3D/2D tool (like PTC Arbortext IsoDraw, CorelDraw or Cortona3D).
  • Good technical understanding paired with a high willingness to learn, improve, and contribute with new ideas.
  • English min. level C1 (required), any other languages (asset).
  • Willingness to travel for business in Austria but also across Central Europe, if required.
  • Understanding of IPS/ILS and/or Technical Publications processes and technologies (an asset) ASD S-series of IPS-/ILS-Specifications (e.g. S1000D, S2000M); ATA e-Business program (e.g. ATA iSpec2200; former ATA 100
