Asset Specialist

We seek an experienced senior Asset Manager who would help us boost our asset management practice and CMDB adoption

An Assets Manager plays a crucial role in defining SOPs for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our HW&SW assets, their relationships with each other, and their interactions with IT and business services.

Our client is a leading telecommunications operator/fintech based out of Qatar, operating across several countries in Northern Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Asia. We are building a greenfield mobile wallet financial venture with the ambition to become the local Revolut!

The core qualities of an Assets & Configuration Specialist

● Very good understanding of Asset Management implementation concepts, including management and definition of assets, implementation of data models, and configuring asset management in ESM tooling

● Strong understanding of ITIL and practical experience with setting up and running asset management

● Strong communication and collaboration skills

● Understanding of IT technologies and systems, ESM solutions available on the market, knowledge of Freshservice is a plus.

● Understanding SDLC

● Demonstrated ability to maintain relationships with senior stakeholders and different IT teams

● Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

● Project management or project coordination experience is a plus

● Fluent English (other languages are an advantage)

What we need from the Assets & Configuration Specialist

● Asset Management: Definition of data models for different asset types and their relationships. Collecting the relevant information from different stakeholders and teams within the IT organisation. Definition of Asset Management SOPs, and connecting asset management to business processes (e.g., JML). Driving the implementation of the models in ESM(Freshservice) and maintaining the records throughout the complete assets’ lifecycle.

● Using Freshservice: Tracking and managing physical and digital assets within the organization, maintaining anaccurate inventory of hardware, software, licenses, and other assets, updating records to reflect changes in asset status, location, or ownership.

● Integration: autodiscovery tools, monitoring tools, and other software to automate asset management data collection and maintenance.

● Configuration Management: Implementing full CMDB in Freshservice. Establishing and maintaining configuration baselines for software, hardware, and other systems, ensuring that all configurations adhere to established standards and guidelines. Maintaining CMDB via automatic exploration tools or manual entries.

● Documentation: Creating and maintaining documentation related to asset and configuration management processes, developing and updating documentation for configuration items and changes.

● Compliance: Ensuring that assets and configurations comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, conducting audits to verify compliance, and identifying areas for improvement.
