Data Engineer
As a vital member of our agile central team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our international reporting platform, built on Microsoft Azure. This platform leverages tools such as Power BI Reports, Power BI Service, Power Apps, Power Automate, and SharePoint Online. The foundation of our data infrastructure is an Oracle Exadata database, where data from various interfaces (SAP and file-based) is processed using the ETL tool SAP Data Services. Additionally, Oracle APEX supports manual master data maintenance, while Microsoft Power Automate facilitates various automated workflows.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to enhance your data engineering expertise while working with vast datasets at Deutsche Telekom. With our extensive data resources, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to explore and innovate. In time, you could grow into a Lead/Senior Data Engineer or transition into a Data Scientist role, depending on your preferences. We have several openings available, so don’t hesitate—apply now!
What will be your key responsibilities:
- Manage and implement reporting solutions on our Microsoft Azure platform.
- Ensure the functionality and optimization of ETL process chains.
- Design, build, and maintain database structures to meet business needs.
- Collaborate with business leaders to define and prioritize data-driven requirements.
- Work with product owners and IT teams to clarify and define user stories and acceptance criteria for data-related tasks.
- Develop IT solutions based on user stories and relevant guidelines.
- Drive innovation and implement data-related best practices across the organization.
What experience should you have:
At least 2 years of experience with MOST of the following:
- SAP BO: Universum, WebI & Lumira, Data Services
- ORACLE: Database, APEX, SQL scripting
- Microsoft Power BI: Service, Desktop, Report Builder, Power Automate
- Cloud technologies (preferably Azure)
- ETL/ELT development in traditional data warehouses (e.g., Oracle, DB2, Teradata)
- Python programming skills
