Finance Business Partner (m/f/d)

We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Business Partner to join our dynamic finance team in a rapidly growing online supermarket. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the financial operations of our fulfilment centres. As a Finance Business Partner, you will collaborate closely with the operations teams to provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations that contribute to the overall success of the fulfilment centres.


What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Business Partnering: Serve as the strategic financial advisor to fulfilment centre leadership, providing financial insights and recommendations to drive operational improvements.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A): Work closely with fulfilment centre management to develop and analyse budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support operational decision-making. Ensure accurate summaries are provided for the WBR and MBRs clearly identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Cost Control and Optimization: Monitor and analyse fulfilment centre costs, identify areas for cost optimization, and collaborate with operational teams to implement efficiency improvements.
  • Performance Metrics: Track and further develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the financial performance of fulfilment centres, providing regular reports and insights to management.
  • Variance Analysis: Conduct regular variance analysis between actual and budgeted performance, investigating and explaining discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement within the fulfilment centres, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement changes that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Preparation of reports to support monthly and annual closings, and ensuring their correctness and completeness.
  • Collaboration with accounting, functioning as a bridge between FC operations and accounting.
  • A variety of ad hoc admin and processes - we’re a lean team and have a wide variety of things to do.

What experience should you have:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or professional certification (e.g., CMA, CPA) is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience, of which at least 3 years proven experience as a Finance Business Partner or similar role in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills: the ability to understand complex models and deal with large sets of data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and confidently work with departmental leaders.
  • Ability to work independently and handle concurrent projects and assignments.
  • Boots on the ground attitude and willingness to regularly visit the DACH fulfilments centres.
  • Working proficiency in German and English is a must.
  • Experience in the retail or e-commerce industry is a plus.
