Head of Accounting

As a key finance leader reporting directly to the VP Accounting & Controlling, you will:

• Lead the accounting agenda for Slovakia (100%) 
• Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in full compliance with IFRS
• Manage and develop an accounting team (complex accountants), ensuring timely, accurate closings and reporting
• Ensure compliance with legal and internal regulations, and alignment with group standards
• Contribute to process automation and ERP implementation/improvement (NetSuite Oracle environment)
• Drive and support accounting transitions from newly acquired companies into the local SSC model in a later stage
• Act as a key partner to business stakeholders across the region

👤 As a core member of our leadership team, you will meet the following:

• 8+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role

• Strong command of IFRS and local GAAP and experience with multi-country accounting operations, including responsibility for:  TIMELY, ACCURATE PREPARATION  OF  IFRS MONTH-END CLOSING PROCESS, CASH FLOW, PREPARATION OF BALANCE SHEET, STATUTORY REPORTS, GROUP REPORTING, VAT STATEMENTS,  TAX RETURNS, etc.

• Proven people leadership, ability to build trust and lead with empathy and accountability
• Naturally hands-on – someone who leads by example and supports the team when needed
• Past involvement in transitions, migrations, or shared services is a strong plus
• Fluent English is a must; Slovak/Czech is an advantage
• Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems is a plus
• University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACCA qualification is a bonus
• Ready to travel up to 10-20%  (part of the on-boarding process, weekly visits to Vienna - the company´s HQ, as well as to Prague or Sofia).
