Key Management Engineer

Key Management Engineer is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the cryptographic key management infrastructure at Marelli, utilizing technologies such as the Thales Luna Network HSM.

What will be your key responsibilities:

The Key Management Engineer will play a key role in implementing and maintaining Marelli's cryptographic key management infrastructure and framework. The position involves leveraging expertise in technologies such as Thales Luna Network HSM and other related systems. The work includes ensuring the robustness and security of cryptographic operations across company's platforms. The candidate will be responsible for developing, deploying, configuring, and maintaining cryptographic systems, including HSMs and front ends, to ensure they operate securely and efficiently within Marelli's infrastructures and manufacturing plants. They will also manage secure storage, encryption, decryption, and digital signatures, support process engineers in resolving incidents, and ensure compliance with security protocols and standards. The position offers catering for secure communications between SKI components and other responsibilities related to performance monitoring, data backup and recovery, and security protocol implementation.

What experience should you have:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Thales Luna Network HSM, Thales CCKM, CipherTrust, and PKI technologies such as EJBCA.
  • Practice in managing virtual machines, Unix operating systems, and networking concepts, including VLAN and firewall management.
  • Experience in configuring and managing PKI solutions, including certification authority and registration authority functions.
  • Familiarity with cryptographic standards and protocols such as X.509, SSL/TLS, and related PKI practices.
  • Experience with BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) and DKE (Double Key Encryption) solutions.
  • Knowledge of product cybersecurity standards such as ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155 and related certification processes.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++, and experience in developing and integrating software solutions related to cryptographic systems.
  • Scripting proficiency in Bash or PowerShell is also required.
  • Analytical skills and ability to effectively communicate technical details to a wide range of stakeholders.
