Lead Engineer


The ideal candidate has a wide-ranging background in Data Centers with building management and energy systems. You will become the expert on our team leading global software projects and finding the solution when installing our applications. Will also provide support when things are not fully functioning as expected.

Your role is to ensure that projects keep on track, by identifying problems and ensuring the optimal solutions. By communicating with your client and colleagues, and documenting what has happened and what has been done to resolve it, you help others to develop in their careers as well.

You will be part of a project team and report to the Project Manager, working from home as well as on client location or from our office is Hardinxveld-Giessendam. Some global travel is expected when needed, to manage and/or support project initiatives.

What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage small project teams; coordinate their work, monitor the project plan, budget and actual costs and take corrective action when required
  • You ensure that projects stay within the scope
  • You safeguard the correct functioning of these control and monitoring systems
  • Provide (remote) support by addressing customer queries and providing optimal resolutions during the project
  • Support and assist our sales department with creating RFQ’s and SLA’s by providing your technical expertise
  • Coordinate and supervise the building of control panels and cabinets as well as the implementation of hardware and software applications
  • Coordinate the activities and priorities of the commissioning engineers

What experience should you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Automation or Electrical Engineering
  • 7-15 years of relevant work experience with industrial software systems and applications
  • Understanding and knowledge of digital power monitoring systems (EMS/EPMS) and building management systems (BMS) preferably for Data Centers or office buildings
  • Affinity and understanding of single-line diagrams, control diagrams, building operations and control circuits
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with project management or having PMI certification is a great plus
  • Willingness to travel EMEA and APAC estimated at 10-20% of your time
  • Good business communication skills in Dutch and English (verbal and written). Experience with the use and programming of software in building management systems (e.g. Priva, Tridium, Trend, Iconics, Schneider Electric, Siemens) is preferred.
  • Experience with the use and programming of electrical power monitoring systems (e.g. ABB, Ignition, Schneider Electric, Eaton preferred)
  • Knowledge of Data Center Facilities Infrastructure and operation (PDU, UPS, Generators, Chillers, CRAH’s, etc…)
