Lead Full Stack Developer

We are an agile team with a focus on AI in a big international company. We provide Data Science solutions for internal customers inside Deutsche Telekom and our skills and solutions are continually in high demand. Therefore, we want to increase the size of our team with additional technical people who know how to process and analyze data so we can serve and satisfy the needs of even more customers.

We are looking for somebody who can work independently, create working solutions quickly, and creatively come up with new ideas, but also knows how to use and where to look for existing solutions. Our project members are also situated in Germany, Slovakia or Romania so video conferencing is the daily standard.

As a Lead Full-Stack Engineer, you’ll drive the design and development of scalable web applications using Next.js, React, and Python. You’ll shape architecture standards, mentor developers, and collaborate across teams to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions.

What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end development of frontend and backend solutions.
  • Define and uphold best practices in architecture, code quality, and performance.
  • Mentor developers and foster a culture of technical excellence.
  • Work closely with backend engineers to integrate REST APIs and ensure smooth service interaction.
  • Partner with AI/ML teams to visualize data and create intuitive interfaces.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and refine product features.
  • Build and maintain a shared UI component library for consistency.
  • Ensure responsive, high-performance design across all platforms.
  • Conduct code reviews, optimize performance, and maintain technical documentation.
  • Stay current with modern web frameworks and DevOps tools (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Share insights and drive ongoing technical improvement.

What experience should you have:

  • Fluent English, German is a plus.
  • More than 10 years of experience of working in and leading backend and frontend development ideally in Data Science / Analytics projects.
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript (React, Next.js) and Python, with strong REST API and microservice architecture skills.
  • Proven record in architecting scalable applications and mentoring teams.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD, Docker, and preferably Kubernetes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
