Quality Manager*in DACH

We are the fastest-growing online grocery delivery service in the DACH region and currently operate in Vienna, Munich, and Frankfurt, with an expansion to Berlin in spring 2024 and Hamburg shortly thereafter. This marks the beginning of an expansion phase into 20 cities in the DACH region by 2030.

Department Overview

The Quality department reviews and ensures the quality of goods such as fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, FMCG-branded or own-brand products. The department is responsible for every aspect of the product quality which we can positively influence in order to make customers everyone shop better and happier with us. We also focus on reviewing and addressing customer complaints, e.g. those submitted via our customer support. Our tasks also include HACCP documentation, one of the fundamental tools for effectively preventing risks to food safety

Role Overview

Quality Manager DACH is located at Munich or Berlin, you have the opportunity to lead the daily work of the QA department, lead and inspire the quality team to deliver improved standards. You must be able to adapt to situations and understand how to identify the right interfaces to achieve meaningful results, implement processes and actions, and ensure that improvements are implemented (PDCA methodology). To be successful, you should be a leader with a QA background in the food industry and extensive experience in building and improving quality processes, as well as leading effective teams in a fast-paced environment. Most importantly, you should always be a few steps ahead.

Was sind Ihre Verpflichtungen:

  • Leadership responsibility for the Quality Management Team DACH
  • Organization and control of all aspects of food safety and quality management in the Assembly Center, including compliance with food safety, internal audits, approval procedures for food safety, enforcement of hygiene regulations, pest control program, etc.
  • Establishment and control of all quality processes in an online operational environment (goods receipt, storage, picking, dispatch, transport)
  • Creation of the necessary documentation to define quality standards and operating procedures
  • Setting quality standards and initiating corrective actions as necessary Investigation of root causes of problems and passing on insights to the operational teams
  • Building relationships and communication with regulatory authorities in the food and non-food sectors and managing all aspects of compliance with food and non-food regulations
  • Contributing to the process of resolving customer complaints in collaboration with all relevant departments
  • Communication with suppliers on all aspects of delivery quality, complaints, corrective actions, trend analysis, etc.

Welche Erfahrung sollten Sie haben:

  • You are a talented QA expert with at least 5 years of experience in a QA management position in the food retail, food production, or a similar industry, preferably with fruits and vegetables or dairy products.
  • Solid knowledge of food safety, quality assurance and control systems, processes, and procedures (HACCP, food safety, microbiology, Global Cap, etc.)
  • A hands-on doer with intensive practical experience in quality management in the food industry.
  • A forward thinker who can quickly and effectively apply their quality management experience in a new environment.
  • An inspiring leader who is able to build their QA team and collaborate cross-functionally with other teams.
  • A positive communicator who can manage motivation and pressure internally and externally
  • Someone who enjoys the innovative and fast-paced environment of a digital challenger, as well as working independently and results-oriented.
  • Results-oriented and works independently
  • Possesses solid analytical skills to make data-driven decisions.
  • Convincing language skills: fluent in German and fluent in English required
