Risk Manager

 Be part of the team which creates the Credit Risk & Collection Management solution for Deutsche Telekom group and the external market.Within the Credit Risk & Fraud Management team you will help managing the credit risk exposure of Telekom in Germany (volume: > €2 billion per year).

You will help building up the Credit Risk & Fraud Services as a Shared Service and will shape the expansion of our service portfolio to all members of the DTAG group and to customers of the external market
You will help develop, optimize, and implement tools and processes to minimize credit risks and proactively prevent fraud for Deutsche Telekom.

You are part of an international team with locations in Kosice (Slovakia) and Bonn (Germany).

What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining processes in the area of Credit Risk & Fraud: Analyze and optimize existing business processes in the area of credit risk and fraud management to establish the most profitable balance between risk and sales potential for our clients.
  • Analyzing Business Data: Investigate and analyze transaction data in risk & CRM systems of Deutsche Telekom to identify patterns and trends that inform rule development or IT changes.
  • Continuous improvement: Develop, implement & document new processes or update processes, including quality assurance to improve efficiency, quality, compliance as well as minimize credit risks, detect and prevent fraud.
  • Process design & integration: Responsible for conceptual design & integration of infrastructure through projects in the area of device fingerprinting or other Credit Risk & Fraud tools
  • Collaborate with teams & other departments: Work closely with various internal departments to ensure that our CRF processes align with company goals and regulatory requirements.

We work in a HYBRID STYLE of working with an unlimited home office, but twice a week we meet in the office for meetings.

The published salary is the minimum possible offer.
The starting salary may be higher depending on the extent of fulfillment of the employee's requirements (education, language skills, required practice, personality assumptions and skills).

What experience should you have:

  • Several years professional experience in the fields of IT, Data-science or related field. Alternatively Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related fiel
  • German - basic understanding, eager to improve
  • You are a fast learner and thinker.
  • Critical Thinking: Willingness to challenge theories (even your own) and deep dive into processes to understand and interpret raw data
  • Technical Skills: Experience with database queries (e.g., SQL) and knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python) are advantageous
  • You are eager to learn or already have specific experience/understanding of business processes regarding Credit Risk & Fraud Prevention (e.g. eCommerce, Telecommunications, …) incl. regulatory requirements.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify complex patterns using data and deep process understanding
  • Analytical Skills: Analytical abilities/ capability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable process optimization (e.g. rule sets or IT demands) is advantageous
  • Teamwork: Capability to work effectively in a cross-functional/international team and collaborate with various departments
  • Communication Skills: straightforward, good communication skills, both written and verbal, especially acting as an intermediary between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ability to explain complex issues plainly but not over-simplistically.
