General Ledger Expert/Senior with Hungarian

With the role of General Ledger Expert Senior, you are responsible for both closing and mid-month preparation activities in the area of GL including closing coordination (including INTACTT), RE-FX rental fee/forward billing accruals, FX valuation, GL analytics reconciliation, HR-accounting, revenue and intercompany accounting, training materials as well as participating in the international process optimization and standardization projects. You provide accounting guidelines for general ledger accountants and continuously develop and improve internal processes. Additionally, you should possess solid knowledge of Asset Closing Expert activities, Closing Fixed Assets, Closing Accounts Payable and Inventory Accounting. This expertise enables you to effectively bridge operational asset accounting activities with overall financial reporting requirements in an international environment as well as to provide back-up support to our team members. Your work takes place in an international environment within Europe which requires understanding of different viewpoints during projects and proactive customer-friendly approach.

What will be your key responsibilities:

  • Perform closing preparation, accrual process and intercompany process.
  • Responsibility for the balance sheet and the profit and loss account reconciliation.
  • Record HR-accounting topics and other provisions in the accounting system.
  • Post late entries in accordance to company guidelines in an accounting system.
  • Generate statement of equity and report on changes in provisions.
  • Support the development of training material and conduction of in-house-trainings for staff
  • Perform controls for the internal control system to ensure compliance and correctness of the General Ledger
  • Conduct analyses as requested by management and recommended to management improvements of the processes related to General Ledger for quality and efficiency reasons.
  • Assist the auditors in their queries.

What experience should you have:

  • Fluent English and Hungarian language (written and spoken)
  • University degree in economics and about 1-2 years experience in international external accounting with focus on IFRS
  • Experienced in the entire closing-related process chain with processes in general ledger, fixed asset accounting, inventories and accounts payables (deep knowledge of IAS/IFRS, local GAAP know-how beneficial)
  • Strong knowledge of SAP (modules FI, FI-AA,CO), MS Office, statistical methods and good analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of additional European local GAAP (preferably Hungarian) is an advantage.
  • High communication-, presentation- and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrate professionalism through a self-driven, proactive, cooperative and respectful approach when engaging with customers, business partners, and colleagues. Uphold strong social and communication skills, reflecting the values of collaboration, integrity, and effective teamwork. 
  • Enthusiasm for international environment and occasional travelling within Europe to participate in international meetings.
