NOC/SOC Manager

We are seeking an experienced NOC / SOC Manager to lead, mentor, and actively participate in the day-to-day operations of our Network Operations Center (NOC) and/or Security Operations Center (SOC). This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring deep technical expertise, strong incident management skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence while managing and developing a high-performing team.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana), handling incident alerts, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring incidents are escalated and resolved in line with industry best practices and SLAs.

What will be your key responsibilities:

Responsibilities 

Operational Leadership

  • Lead, manage, and mentor the NOC/SOC team, including shift planning, workload management, and performance reviews
  •  Act as the escalation point for critical incidents and major outages
  •  Ensure 24x7 monitoring coverage (if applicable) and adherence to operational SLAs and KPIs
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Hands-On Technical Responsibilities

  • Actively monitor infrastructure, applications, and security events using Grafana and integrated monitoring tools
  • Analyze alerts, identify false positives, and fine-tune alerting thresholds and dashboards
  • Perform incident triage, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-incident reviews
  • Coordinate and execute incident response, including escalation to internal teams or third-party vendors
  • Ensure accurate and timely incident documentation, reporting, and communication

Incident & Escalation Management

  • Define and enforce incident severity levels and escalation procedures
  • Ensure incidents are logged, tracked, escalated, and resolved within defined SLAs
  • Lead Major Incident Management (MIM) calls and stakeholder communications
  • Drive post-incident reviews and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented

Process, Tools & Best Practices

  • Establish, document, and continuously improve NOC/SOC processes and runbooks
  • Implement and maintain best practices aligned with ITIL, SRE, and SOC/NOC operational standards
  • Optimize monitoring dashboards, alerting rules, and operational workflows
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, security standards, and audit requirements

Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with Infrastructure, Security, DevOps, and Application teams
  • Provide regular operational reports on incidents, trends, MTTR, and system health
  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders


What experience should you have:

Required Qualifications & Experience

  •  5+ years of experience in a NOC, SOC, or combined operations environment
  • Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role
  • Strong hands-on experience with Grafana monitoring and alerting
  • Experience analyzing incident alerts and managing escalations
  • Solid understanding of networking, systems, cloud, and/or security operations
  • Experience with incident management frameworks (ITIL, SRE, or equivalent)
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple incidents simultaneously

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SIEM tools, log aggregation, or observability platforms
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Familiarity with automation and alert optimization
  • Security operations experience (threat detection, response, vulnerability management)
  • Certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, CISM, or similar
