Credit Risk Team Leader

Based in Prague, the Credit Risk Lead will manage and control the credit risk of multiple sales organizations. This position involves analyzing the customer B2B portfolio to minimize company risk. Close cooperation with the sales organizations is essential to optimize credit risks, maximize sales to customers, and minimize outstanding receivables and potential losses. The Credit Risk Lead oversees a team of five people located in Prague and Amsterdam.

What will be your key responsibilities:

Team Leadership (60%):

Supervise a team of 4 individuals based in two locations (Prague, Amsterdam), conducting regular meetings, coaching team members, training newcomers, and conducting performance reviews, ensure effective resource management and establish a backup structure.

Lead the implementation of process improvements within the team.

Organize efficient Risk Management and apply Credit Policy.

Regularly evaluate Credit Risk categories and Credit Limits.

Make recommendations for procedural and policy changes.

Communicate and manage stakeholders, including Sales, CFO, Legal department, Customers, Credit Agencies, and Credit Insurers/Brokers.

Operational Tasks (40%):

Analyze customer risk and review new and existing customers based on different scoring rules.

Maintain customer scorecard for customer credit risk

Secure credit risk by acquiring and maintaining bank guarantees, letters of credit, stand-by letters of credit, and insurance.

Calculate internal credit limits for specific customers and manage credit risk.

Perform accounting activities for doubtful accounts receivable, review Value adjustments and Write-offs, and prepare journal vouchers for approvals.

Evaluate and release blocked orders, obtaining necessary approvals.

Handle legal dunning and insolvencies, collaborating with stakeholders such as the Legal department and insurance providers.

Ensure availability of necessary materials for External/Internal audits and address audit questions.

What experience should you have:

  • University degree, preferably in economics or finance.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the credit risk field
  • Previous experience in leading a team.
  • Proficient in comprehending and interpreting financial statements, and drawing business-related conclusions.
  • Knowledge and understanding of F&A processes, including methodologies for handling standard and non-standard financial situations.
  • Fluent in English
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Familiarity with SAP and Power BI desktop is advantage
  • Possess analytical thinking, a structured approach, and the ability to think outside the box.
  • Strong communication skills, proactive behavior, positive mental and "get things done" attitude.
