Founding Engineer (A1021)

As a Founding Engineer, you will be responsible for the core data architecture including data ingestion, computation, storage, and systems ensuring dashboard speed and billing accuracy. This includes tasks such as reliably ingesting high-volume data, handling duplicates, late arrivals, partial data failures, computing costs accurately, enabling historical pricing adjustments, efficiently aggregating and serving time-based analytics, and scaling systems.
Your designs will maintain strict tenant isolation within a shared environment and facilitate the shift from batch to streaming without breaking contracts. Future changes to the architecture will only be introduced when justified.

• Experience building distributed data systems in production
• Knowledge of idempotency, ordering guarantees, at-least-once delivery
• Strong experience in Python (async/concurrency)
• Comfortable reading and modifying Go
• Deep experience with PostgreSQL
• Designing multi-tenant SaaS data models
• Deploying and debugging on AWS
• Strong plus: experience with streaming systems (Kafka/Kinesis), time-series or OLAP databases, Spark or large-scale recomputation pipelines, and OpenTelemetry familiarity.
• Mindset focused on simplicity, evolving design, and a care for data contracts and backward compatibility. Desires ownership and moves fast, while cleaning up afterwards.
