Senior IT solution designer- KE

We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Solution Designer to design and drive complex automation solutions across the Deutsche Telekom Group.
In this role, you will take end-to-end technical ownership of automation solutions - from understanding business requirements and designing the target solution through implementation and integration to successful production delivery. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, developers, and automation experts and are expected to combine strong solution-design capabilities with hands-on technical and coding experience.

What will be your key responsibilities:

Solution Architecture & Technical Design:

  • Analyze complex business processes and translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions using appropriate modelling standards such as BPMN 2.0.
  • Design end-to-end automation solutions, including system interactions, integrations, APIs, data flows, and automation components.
  • Make and document technical design decisions considering scalability, maintainability, security, performance, and operational requirements.

Hands-on Development & Integration:
  • Develop scripts and technical components required to implement and integrate automation solutions.
  • Work hands-on with JavaScript, Groovy, Java, Python, or comparable programminging languages and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Design and implement integrations between automation platforms, APIs, enterprise applications, and other systems.

Technical Leadership & Delivery:
  • Take technical ownership of automation initiatives from design through implementation and production, guiding developers and automation specialists during implementation.
  • Challenge requirements and proposed solutions where appropriate, drive resolution of technical impediments and escalations, and collaborate closely with architects, Product Owners, business stakeholders, and development teams.

We work in a HYBRID STYLE of working.
The published salary is the minimum possible offer. The starting salary may be higher depending on the extent of fulfillment of the employee's requirements (education, language skills, required practice, personality assumptions and skills).

What experience should you have:

  • Fluent in written and spoken English and German
  • Several years of professional experience in IT solution design, software development, automation, integration, or a comparable technical role
  • Hands-on coding experience is mandatory, with practical experience developing production-relevant solutions using JavaScript, Groovy, Java, Python, or another comparable programming language
  • Strong understanding of software-development principles, APIs, integrations, data structures, and system-to-system communication
  • Proven experience designing and implementing end-to-end technical solutions; experience with Camunda, Jira, Confluence, BPMN 2.0, enterprise automation platforms, REST APIs, CI/CD, and Git is an advantage
  • Ability to understand existing code, troubleshoot technical problems, and independently develop or modify technical components
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities with the ability to work independently and take ownership of technically complex topics
  • Experience working in agile development environments and proactively engaging stakeholders
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a comparable field is beneficial; equivalent professional experience is equally valued
