Chief Accountant

Our client is a global company engaged in assistance services and insurance based in Prague. 


Responsible for overall accounting of the Company. Qualified development of accounting function and accounting system with regards to business requirements of the Company. Correct, complete and timely processing of accounting activities.

What will be your key responsibilities:


  • General accounting of the Company
  • Coordination of the accounting activities with accountants and billing specialists, supervising the correctness of the accountancy, providing methodological support
  • Cash flow management, administration of the bank accounts
  • Completion of accounting documents, accounting and control of company expenditures
  • Responsible for month-end close and year-end close and for reconciled balance sheet
  • Methodical support for local accountants in subsidiaries
  • Taxes – supervising VAT returns; road tax return, corporate tax - calculation and participation on preparation of corporate tax return, withholding tax; co-operation with tax advisors, tax authorities
  • Participation on the mother company’s  - monthly and quarterly reporting
  • Cooperation with external (and possibly with internal) auditors; participation in annual statutory audits of local financial statements and group consolidated statements (if applicable)
  • Preparation of data needed for reporting and budgeting
  • Annual preparation of consolidated financial statement of the group (if applicable)
  • Preparation of financial statements, annual report (with Head of Finance)
  • Development and update of methodologies and internal guidelines (with Head of Finance)
  • Identification of potential problem areas and proposing possible solutions
  • Other ad hoc activities required by Head of Finance, Finance Controller or CFO


What experience should you have:

Education / knowledge and experience:

  • Economic studies, preferably Finance and Accountancy – at least high school and/or relevant experience in Finance (Financial Accounting & Reporting, Taxes)
  • Basic Excel knowledge (filters, pivot tables, v/xlookup) and basic knowledge of other MS Office tools (Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with consolidation of financial statements of foreign companies is an advantage
  • Experience in MS Dynamics accounting system is an advantage

  • Language skills:
  • Very good command of English language (written and spoken) is essential for successful daily performance of the job
