Data Manager – Procurement & SAP MM

We are looking for a skilled Data Manager to join our team and play a key role in the development and management of procurement-related master data in SAP ECC and S/4HANA.

In this role, you will focus primarily on contracts, tenders, and MM objects, supporting a strategic transformation project aimed at digitalization, improved data quality, and the implementation of robust contract management processes. Acting as a subject matter expert in procurement data, you will actively contribute to shaping and evolving procurement data governance across the organization.

What will be your key responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage procurement master data objects in SAP MM, especially contracts, tenders, and purchasing info records.
  • Participate in the implementation of contract and tendering processes in SAP.
  • Analyze business requirements and propose solutions within the SAP data model (ECC/S/4HANA).
  • Collaborate with procurement, IT, and data governance teams on solution design, testing, and deployment.
  • Define and maintain mapping and transformation rules for data distribution between systems.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance across procurement-related data domains.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Prepare and execute test scenarios, support defect resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Create documentation and deliver training for procurement data processes.
  • Work in an agile environment (SAFe framework) and contribute to cross-functional teams.
  • Support internal audits and compliance checks related to procurement data.
  • Strongly focused on Data Governance

What experience should you have:

  • Proven experience with SAP MM, especially in areas related to contracts, tenders, and procurement master data.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end procurement processes and their data dependencies.
  • Experience with data management and governance in large-scale SAP environments.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA.
  • Experience with at least one Master Data Management (MDM) tool, ideally SAP MDG-M (Master Data Governance for Materials).
  • Familiarity with customizing settings in SAP MM related to procurement data.
  • Experience with digital transformation and automation initiatives.
  • Agile mindset and experience working in SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban teams.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • English – C1 level minimum; German is an advantage
